Wehbe praises the “Lions” against Ecuador
Mohamed Wehbe, coach of the Moroccan national team, said that he was happy with the result and performance against the Ecuadorian national team, describing it as a strong team.
The “Lions” captain added, in a press conference following the 1-1 draw, that the team needs such matches in order to prepare well for the World Cup.
Wehbe stressed that he does not prefer one player over another, stressing that he relies on engaging the player he deems appropriate for the adopted tactic.
The Moroccan national team coach indicated that the absence of Ayoub El Kaabi from the official squad has nothing to do with the injury, explaining that the absence of Yasser Al-Zabiri and Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal came as a result of their participation with the Olympic team against the Côte d'Ivoire national team.
He added that his choice to play without a clear striker (No. 9) came because of the ability of Moroccan players to adapt to different positions on the field.
Wehbe stressed that he has enough time to prepare for the World Cup, considering that working on high pressure and good organization on the field will enable the team to perform at distinguished levels in the World Cup.
He concluded his statement by praising a number of players, stressing that Rabih Harimat deserves to play with the national team, describing him as one of the best players in the professional tournament. He also praised Issa Diop and Yassine Jassim, indicating that the changes he made were with the aim of achieving victory.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team will face its counterpart, the Paraguayan national team, next Tuesday, in Lens, on the grounds of the Polar Dololi stadium, starting at eight in the evening.
