The “Atlas Cubs” in Libya sweep the Algerian team 3-0
The Moroccan under-17 team was able to achieve its second successive victory, after defeating the Algerian team 3-0, this Friday evening, on the grounds of the Military Sports Federation Stadium in the Libyan city of Gamenes, as part of the North African Football Federation Championship held on Libyan soil.
The Moroccan national team started the match with great enthusiasm, as it was able to score the first goal in the 12th minute, after an own goal by the Algerian national team player Nobali.
The “Atlas Cubs” added the second goal in the 43rd minute, thanks to player Rami Lokmani, so the first half ended with the Moroccan national team prevailing 2-0.
The national elements managed the course of the second half with great stability. The Moroccan defense stood as an impenetrable barrier in the face of Algerian attacks, with dangerous attempts by the “Cubes” being recorded.
In the 92nd minute, player Adam Boghese fired the coup de grâce at the Algerian team, scoring the third goal, confirming the Moroccan advantage, so the match ended with the Moroccan team's victory with a score of 3-0.
This competition falls within the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations finals for the under-17 category, with the participation of five teams: Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Algeria.
The Moroccan team raised its points tally to sixth point, sitting on top, after winning the first match over its Tunisian counterpart with a score of 2-0.
The Moroccan national team is expected to face its Egyptian counterpart on March 30, with the first round concluding with a match against Libya on April 5.
