Moroccan lawyers warn two French companies
The president of the Moroccan Lawyers Club, Mourad Al-Ajouti, announced that the club has sent two official legal warnings to the company in charge of exploiting the stadium that will host Senegal’s bid for the Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025” tomorrow, Saturday, before the friendly between the Senegalese national team and its Peruvian counterpart, as well as to the “GLEvents” group, considering that these two entities bear direct responsibility in a ceremony based on a withdrawn title.
Murad Al-Ajouti, President of the Moroccan Lawyers Club, said in “tweets” posted on his account on the social networking site “x”: “This morning we issued two official warnings to the exploitation company ‘StadeFrance’, as well as to the ‘GLEVents’ group,” holding them directly responsible by “submitting their contribution to a ceremony based on a withdrawn title.”
According to an official program published by the Senegalese Football Federation, on its account on the social networking site “Instagram”, the African Cup of Nations title will be presented starting at 3:45 p.m., on the grounds of the “Parc des Princes” stadium, which will host the friendly match between the Senegalese national team and its Peruvian counterpart starting at five o’clock.
Al-Ajouti explained that “in accordance with a final decision issued on March 17, 2026, the CAF Appeals Committee re-awarded the title to Morocco,” highlighting that “in the absence of a decision to suspend the implementation by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS), the display of this cup constitutes an impersonation and a clearly unlawful disturbance,” pointing to the requirements of Article 835 of the CPC Civil Procedure Code.
The President of the Lawyers Club in Morocco added in his “tweet” that any maintenance of the aforementioned ceremony “will lead to judicial prosecutions to demand compensation for damages, based on Article 1240 of the Civil Code (negligent civil liability).” He added that the Lawyers Club in Morocco reserves the right to request the imposition of judicial custody of the trophy (Article 1961 of the Civil Code).
In the absence of an agreement or legal basis for possession, the same lawyer stressed that “the subject of the dispute (the cup) must be placed under the guard of a judicial commissioner.”
The Senegalese Football Association’s proceeding with displaying the title in an official ceremony clearly ignores CAF’s decision to strip the “Lions of Teranga” of the title, after they were declared defeated during the final of the African Cup of Nations “Morocco 2025”, after their withdrawal against the Moroccan national team, and the latter’s victory with a score of 3-0.
