Moroccan football shines in Africa
Moroccan clubs continue to extend their dominance and brilliance in the advanced stages of African club competitions, with three national football representatives qualifying for the semi-finals this season. This establishes a permanent presence at this crucial stage.
In the African Champions League competition, the Royal Army and Nahdet Berkane teams secured their tickets to the semi-finals, following a distinguished path characterized by effectiveness, solidity and focus, thus defeating a purely Moroccan date in the semi-finals. This guarantees Moroccan football a seat in the final match of the most expensive continental competition.
As for the African Confederation Cup, Olympique Safi marked a historic participation by snatching the ticket to qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of its compatriot Wydad Athletic Club in a match that took place on a hot plate.
The “Shark of Misfiwi” path is one of the most prominent surprises of this edition, as the team succeeded in reaching the semi-finals in its first continental participation, based on a high technical performance in the group stage and a great ability to create surprises in the knockout rounds.
The CAF Cup quarter-final matches witnessed an all-Moroccan confrontation between Wydad Athletic Club and Olympique Safi. Which reflects the continued dominance of national clubs at these high competitive levels.
This dynamism confirms the continuity of the Moroccan glow. Since 2019, and much before that, Moroccan clubs have regularly reached the final rounds, with frequent presence on the podiums.
