Pyramids complains: “The Royal Army qualifies”
The Egyptian Pyramids Club filed a complaint with the Confederation of African Football against Mauritanian referee Dahan Beida, after the Royal Army team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
This step comes after the Egyptian team was excluded from the continental competition, following its loss in its home field against “Al-Asaker” with a score of 2-1.
The Egyptian club claimed, in its complaint, that “the refereeing team did not award two penalty kicks in its favor during the stages of the match.”
In this regard, he referred to “a case in the first half that was not approved, despite the return to video technology.” In addition to “an intervention against player Youssef Obama, in the second half, inside the operations area.”
The complaint also included notes about “how to manage wasted time during the match” and “protecting players from strong interference.”
Through this procedure, Pyramids called for “opening an investigation into cases affecting the outcome of the confrontation and the team’s course in the tournament.”
It is worth noting that the Royal Army team succeeded in snatching the qualification ticket to the semi-finals from the heart of Cairo, benefiting from its 2-1 victory in the second leg, after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw, and it will meet RS Berkane in the next round.
