Moroccan Talbi seals Sunderland's victory
Sunderland's Moroccan international striker, Chamseddine Talebi, led his team to victory over host Newcastle 2-1 on Sunday in the 31st round of the English Football League.
After two consecutive victories in the league, Newcastle fell despite taking the lead through Anthony Gordon's goal, following a fatal error by defender Luke O'Ryan in passing the ball to German striker Nick Wohltmadhe, who played it toward Gordon to put it into the goal (10).
But Talbi equalized with a shot from close range from a corner kick that reached Northern Irishman Trey Hume, who shot it and was followed by Senegalese Habib Diarra towards the goal. Defender Dan Byrne blocked it and it rebounded to the Moroccan, who followed it into the goal (57).
This is the twenty-year-old's fourth goal in the English Premier League, in his 23rd match with Sunderland.
In the last minute of stoppage time, Dutchman Brian Probbe snatched the victory for the visitors following a cross from French substitute Enzo Le Vie (90).
With its first win after two losses, Sunderland raised its score to 43 points in eleventh place, one point ahead of Newcastle.
Newcastle's loss comes after a heavy loss to Barcelona, โโSpain, 2-7, in the second leg of the Champions League final, as well as its exit from the English Cup final, at the hands of Manchester City (1-3).
