The Omani Federation contracts with Al-Saktiwi
The Omani Football Association announced, on Sunday, its contract with Moroccan coach Tariq Al-Saktiwi to lead the first national team during the next stage, days after he submitted his resignation from his duties within the Royal Moroccan Football League.
Al-Saktiwi's transfer to the technical staff of the Omani national team came after he ended his association with the Moroccan national teams, after his name was strongly nominated to take over the leadership of the first Moroccan national team, succeeding former coach Walid Regragui. However, some details prevented reaching an agreement with the university, and later moved towards appointing Mohamed Wehbe as head of the national team.
The Moroccan coach arrives in Muscat with a strong coaching record at the national team level, as he led the Olympic team to win the bronze medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics, and he also won the 2024 African Cup title with the local team, and added the 2025 Arab Cup title to his tally, which are achievements that strengthened his position within the prominent national frameworks in Moroccan, Arab and African football.
