The Royal Army defeats Pyramids and qualifies for the African Champions League semi-finals
The Royal Army Football Club defeated its Egyptian host, Pyramids, with a score of 2-1, this evening, Saturday, on the field of the Air Defense Stadium, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, for the second leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals.
The Royal Army was able to emerge victorious during the first half thanks to Reda Salim’s early goal, who was able to score the first goal in the ninth minute after a decisive pass from his colleague Youssef Al-Fahli.
During the second half, “Al-Asaker” was able to add a second goal, through team captain Mohamed Rabie Harimat in the 54th minute after a decisive pass from Reda Selim.
Pyramids were able to reduce the difference, through Congolese Feston Mayele in the 63rd minute, after a decisive pass from Moroccan Mohamed El Chebbi.
The last minutes of this match witnessed a rush by the home team, hoping to change the score. However, he collided with a strong defense of the Royal Army, and the match ended with Rafaq Harimat winning 2-1.
The Royal Army team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League, where it will meet the winners of Nahdet Berkane and Al Hilal of Sudan.
