Wahbi explains the absence of Al-Nusayri and Akhumash
National voter Mohamed Wehbe, coach of the first Moroccan national football team, spoke about the reason for the absence of some players from the friendly matches of Paraguay and Ecuador, highlighting that his choices were generally technical.
Regarding Youssef En-Nesyri, he stressed in a press conference today at the Mohammed VI Football Complex that his absence from the Moroccan national team roster is not related to any injury, but rather falls within the framework of purely technical choices.
As for Sofiane Benjedida, Wehbe explained that he knew him well when he was in Raja, and he is a good player, and if he continues to work and shine, he will have a place in the national team, stressing that it is difficult to please everyone.
Regarding the absence of Elias Akhoumash, the national voter confirmed that the player is suffering from a mild injury, but it is not the main reason behind his exclusion, indicating that he will have his opportunity in the future.
The Moroccan national team will face Ecuador on March 27 in Madrid, and the Paraguayan national team on the 31 of the same month in Lens, France.
It is worth noting that these matches are part of the “Atlas Lions” preparations for upcoming events, most notably the 2026 World Cup.
