Olympique Safi and Wydad part ways in a draw in the first leg of the CAF Cup quarter-finals
Olympique Safi tied with Wydad Athletic Club, 1-1, on the field of Al-Masirah Stadium, for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Confederation Cup.
The match began with a debate between the two parties. The “Masfiyi Shark” and the “Red Team” exchanged attacks, in an attempt to open the scoring during the first minutes of the match.
Despite the opportunities afforded to both teams in this Moroccan-African match, the scoreless tie remained throughout the first half.
During the second half, the Casablanca team was the first to score through Bolivian international player Vaca in the 68th minute.
After Wydad's goal, Olympique Safi intensified its attacks in search of an equaliser. This happened to him in the 86th minute through Salah Al-Din Al-Rhouli, but the scoring was awarded to goalkeeper Benabid against his own goal, so the confrontation ended in a positive draw with a goal for the same.
It is noteworthy that the return match between Wydad Athletic Club and Olympique Safi will take place on March 22, starting at eight in the evening, on the grounds of the Mohammed V Sports Complex.
