"Young boxers" shine in Bangkok
The Moroccan under-19 team, male and female, won four bronze medals at the Boxing World Cup, which was hosted by the Thai capital, Bangkok, from March 8 to 15.
A statement from the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation stated that the four bronze medals were won by Marwan Jaafari (70 kilograms), Mohamed Wehbe (over 91 kilograms), Rehab Hamdoun (51 kilograms), and Aya Sibai (65 kilograms), after an outstanding performance during which the Moroccan male and female boxers demonstrated promising technical and physical qualifications.
The communication indicated that this outcome is the first of its kind after the official involvement of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation in the new International Federation.
He added that this global tournament witnessed the participation of 79 countries, with a total of 485 male and female boxers; Which made the competition intense to reach the podium.
The Moroccan team was accompanied by a technical team that included Cuban coach Juan Carlos Ferrer, assisted by coach Najim El Abdelaoui, Yassine Meshahabi and Zahra El Zahraoui, in addition to masseuse Mustafa Abissa.
