Boumahdi is a trainer for female athletes with a two-year contract
The Jordanian Football Association announced the appointment of Moroccan coach Lamia Boumahdi as coach of the first women’s team, “Al-Nashmiyyat,” in addition to naming her as assistant technical director of the federation for women’s football affairs and supervisor of the women’s teams.
The Jordanian Federation explained, in an official statement, that Boumhdi has a long career in the field of training and technical management, as she led the women’s team at the Congolese club TP Mazembe between the years 2022 and 2025, and also supervised the training of the women’s national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the year 2025, in addition to supervising the football school of the same club.
The Moroccan coach previously worked within the National Technical Administration of the Royal Moroccan Football University during the period between 2016 and 2022, where she contributed to framing a number of programs related to the training and qualification of female coaches in Morocco.
Boumhdi also trained a number of women’s national teams for the age groups, and led the first Moroccan women’s team in 2020, in addition to obtaining several training certificates accredited by the Confederation of African Football, most notably the “CAF A” coaching license, in addition to her status as a certified lecturer with “CAF.”
Boumhdi achieved a number of achievements during her coaching career, most notably winning the Women’s African Champions League title with TP Mazembe in 2024, in addition to winning the Best Women’s Football Coach Award in Africa for the years 2024 and 2025, and being nominated among the three best coaches on the continent in 2025.
In a related context, Hesport learned from its own sources that the contract binding Boumahdi with the Jordanian Football Association extends for two years, subject to renewal.
Boumhdi had previously reached an official agreement with the Royal Moroccan Football University to supervise the training of the women’s national team for under 20 years, as she actually supervised the team’s camp and participated with it in an international friendly league in Turkey, before heading to take on the task of training the Jordanian national team without signing official contracts with the university.
