Bouadi initially joins the “Atlas Lions”
National voter Mohamed Wehbe is heading to invite the player Ayoub Bouadi, midfielder for the French club Lille, to join the Moroccan national team during the current March gathering.
According to data circulated in the French sports press, communications have intensified in recent weeks between university officials and the 18-year-old player, who is considered one of the most prominent emerging talents in the French League this season.
Bouadi, born in the French city of Sanlis to Moroccan parents, shone with Lille despite the team's fluctuating results. He has international experience with the France national team for under 21 years, where he has played eight matches so far.
As part of the Royal Moroccan University’s efforts to strengthen the national team’s ranks with young players of dual nationality, a meeting was held this week that included Fawzi Lakjaa, the university’s president, and the new national voter Mohamed Wehbe, in addition to the player and his entourage, to present the sports project for the Moroccan national team, according to what was reported by the French “Foot Mercato” website.
The same sources indicate that the meeting was positive, and that Bouadi expressed initial agreement to represent Morocco internationally, pending the official step of summoning him to the next camp.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation hopes to quickly integrate the player into the ranks of the national team, as part of the policy of expanding the base of young talent, especially after the emergence of new names in the midfield such as Niall El Aynaoui and Samir Murabit.
