Petarch: I have not decided to play for Morocco
Thiago Pitarch, the young Spanish star of Real Madrid of Moroccan origin, spoke for the first time about the possibility of representing the “Atlas Lions” in the future, in light of the ongoing conflict between Morocco and Spain over his international services.
The 18-year-old midfielder's statements came after his first participation in the Champions League, where he presented an outstanding performance during Real Madrid's 3-0 victory over Manchester City, continuing to attract attention as one of the most prominent emerging talents in the Royal Club.
Thiago Pitarch said, in a statement to the beIN Sports channel, that he has not yet decided on the team he will represent in the future, despite the growing interest from the Spanish Football Federation in including him. He added in the same statement that his Real Madrid teammate Ibrahim Diaz talks to him a lot about the Moroccan national team and the atmosphere inside the “Atlas Lions” camp.
Petarch stressed that Diaz always describes to him the positive atmosphere and great happiness experienced by the players within the Moroccan national team, which makes him think about the matter seriously.
The young Real Madrid player confirmed that he is still in the thinking stage and has not yet made his final decision about representing Morocco or Spain, highlighting that he is currently focusing on developing his level with his team. He concluded his statements by emphasizing that Diaz provides him with great support within the Real Madrid dressing room, considering him as an important support for him within the team.
