Rachid Ben Mahmoud chooses to leave “The Lions”
“Hesport” learned from informed sources that Rachid Ben Mahmoud, the former national director and assistant to the national voter, renewed his refusal to continue his duties within the new technical staff of the national team led by Mohamed Wehbe, preferring to go through a new experience away from the surroundings of the national team.
The same sources indicated that Ben Mahmoud decided to leave the national team in parallel with the separation from former voter Walid Regragui, despite attempts by a group of players within the “Lions” to persuade him to stay and continue working within the technical staff.
Regarding the proposal to work within the corridors of the Royal Moroccan Football University as a coordinator with the first national team, Hesport sources confirmed that the idea was not welcomed either by Rachid Ben Mahmoud, who prefers to discuss the offers he has outside the national team’s circle.
“Hesport” sources indicated that negotiating with Ben Mahmoud previously to continue his duties as first assistant in exchange for Wahbi Sacramento’s announcement in the same position increased tension regarding the issue of continuation, awaiting developments in the file, which the same sources confirmed remains open to all scenarios due to the continued proliferation of positions regarding it.
