Hernia brings Akrd to the operating room

Olympique Marseille, which plays in the French Football League (Ligue 1), announced that Moroccan international Naif Akrad will undergo surgery tomorrow, Thursday, to treat a chronic sports hernia.

The club explained, in a statement, that the Moroccan defender played during recent weeks, despite feeling pain and discomfort whose severity had become “extremely great in such circumstances.”

The same source added that despite the conservative treatments that the player received, the club’s medical staff concluded, in view of the development of his medical condition, that “surgical intervention had become inevitable,” after which he would undergo a rehabilitation program.

The club indicated that Akrad, who has great determination, will do everything in his power to return to the stadiums as soon as possible to participate with Olympique Marseille in the decisive stage of the season, stressing at the same time its “full support” for its midfield defender.
