The under-17 team defeats Egypt
The Moroccan under-17 team was able to achieve its third successive victory, after defeating the Egyptian team, with a score of 2-1, on Monday evening, on the grounds of the Military Sports Federation Stadium, in the Libyan city of Gamenes, within the North African Football Federation Championship, which is being held on Libyan soil.
The Moroccan national team imposed its playing style and was the most dangerous and wanted to score a goal, which was achieved by striker Rami Lokmani in the 24th minute of the match.
Four minutes before the end of the first half, the Egyptian team succeeded in reducing the score after scoring the equalizing goal through player Adel Alaa.
During the second half of the match, the “Cubes” continued to dominate the details of the match, whether through possession or creating a group of opportunities to score.
The Moroccan national team succeeded in scoring the second goal during the last minutes of the match, after Marouane Bentaleb shot a powerful ball from outside the operations box. Player Adnan Boujoufi succeeded in diverting it into a goal, deceiving goalkeeper Amr Hussein.
The “Pharaohs” team completed the match with ten players after the match referee showed red cards in the face of defender Yassin Tamer Abu Al-Qasim.
This competition falls within the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations finals for the under-17 category, with the participation of five teams: Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Algeria.
The Moroccan team raised its points tally to ninth point, sitting on top, as it won the first match over its Tunisian counterpart with a score of 2-0, and also defeated the Algerian team with a score of 3-0 in the second match.
The Moroccan national team officially qualified for the finals of the African Cup of Nations for the under-17 category, and was also crowned champion of this tournament by topping the group with nine points.
It is expected that the Moroccan national team will conclude its participation in this tournament by facing its counterpart, the Libyan national team, next Sunday.
